Choose the first workflow
Start with one process with defined users, inputs, outputs, and an owner. For example, order entry through invoice generation.
Separate initial needs from future work
Documents, access controls, reporting, migration, and integrations carry different costs and risks. Prioritize with an operational reviewer.
Write acceptance criteria
Use realistic scenarios with permitted test data. Describe expected outputs, validation, and failure conditions.
Make support plannable
The proposal should define milestones, review rounds, scope changes, ownership, costs, and support periods. A portfolio example does not automatically mean ready-to-use software.
